Charleston Indigo Co. arose from our mixed interest in history and gardening.
Indigo was crucial to the settlers of Low Country South Carolina, thanks mainly to the dye that its leaves can create.
We found indigo easy to grow, and more challenging to convert into dye (from its leaves).
And so we formed Charleston Indigo Company to enable o

Charleston Indigo Co. aims partly to be a hub for "all things indigo" - from plant sales to care to dye-making to indigo's history in South Carolina.
There is more: we want indigo to serve Charleston's less advantaged population - by providing them with employment and financial opportunities through our 501(c)(3) tax exempt status - currently pending IRS confirmation.
